Softball Recap: Northport Has No Trouble Against Huntington

Northport won the last time they faced Huntington and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Tigers blew past the Blue Devils 19-2. Considering the Tigers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Northport let Sierra Albano and Jamie Anderso run wild. Albano went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Anderso got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one RBI. That home run was Albano's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jillian Ryan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

Northport's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Huntington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Coming up, Northport will be playing in front of their home fans against Copiague at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Huntington, they will head out on the road to take on Newfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
