Softball Recap: Justin Garza Has No Trouble Against Sunnyside

Justin Garza came out on top against Sunnyside on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Guardians were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Guardians have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Gracie Uribe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harmony Cook, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. JorJa Hernandez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Justin Garza was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 13-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Justin Garza moved to 16-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Sunnyside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-11.
