Basketball Recap: Spaulding Comes Up Short

Spaulding was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Merrimack Tomahawks. The Red Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tomahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Spaulding's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Merrimack, the win snapped their losing streak at 18 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-2 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spaulding will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Windham at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Merrimack will also get a bit of a break before their next matchup: they'll face off against Londonderry at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
