Basketball Recap: Jenkins Drops Highest Score of Season Against Beach

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jenkins). They enjoyed a cozy 71-52 victory over the Beach Bulldogs on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-38 back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jenkins to victory, but perhaps none more so than I'Yarna Lee, who went 6 of 9 en route to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance also gave Lee a new career-high in steals (five). Another player making a difference was Aniyah Browner, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 17 points and six assists.

Lee wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Jenkins was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why Beach lost, don't look at Mariah Reid. Despite the final result, she posted 33 points. Reid's evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Jenkins' record is now 9-6. As for Beach, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Jenkins didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-32 defeat against Calvary Day on the 17th. Beach has also already played their next matchup, a 74-38 loss against Brunswick on the 17th.
