Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Cypress Falls' Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Cypress Falls won the last time they faced Northbrook and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cypress Falls Eagles strolled past the Northbrook Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 53-38. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Raiders are ranked 1140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Northbrook lost, don't look at Terrell Woodard. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 on his way to 23 points. Woodard is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Demetrius Holman, who posted five points and three steals.

Cypress Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Northbrook, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

As for Northbrook, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cypress Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northbrook is facing Cypress Ridge at the right time seeing as Cypress Ridge is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
