Volleyball Recap: Gilbert Find Success

The Gilbert Indians beat the Aynor Blue Jackets 2-0 on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Indians.

Benita Stewart paced Gilbert's offense, picking up six kills. Stewart got some help from Kaylie Spires and her 14 assists. Spires also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kennedy Koon, racking up two apiece.

Gilbert's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Aynor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6.

Gilbert didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against North Central on the 20th. As for Aynor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Marlboro County on the 23rd.
