Baseball Recap: Linden Find Success

Linden had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Weston Ranch on Friday. The Linden Lions never let the Weston Ranch Cougars get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 5-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Justin Sales made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Sales was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dax Weber was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonah Craven, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Linden's record is now 2-0. As for Weston Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Linden wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Central Valley on the 24th. As for Weston Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against West on the 26th.
