Basketball Recap: Atrisco Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Atrisco Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Albuquerque Bulldogs, falling 64-19. The Jaguars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

When it comes to explaining why Atrisco Heritage Academy lost, don't look at Destiny Yapor. Despite the final result, she posted seven points and six rebounds.

Albuquerque's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lailah Bouldin, who went 8-for-11 en route to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. What's more, Bouldin also posted a 73% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zaiyah Hawley, who put up seven points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Albuquerque, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-4.

Atrisco Heritage Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-39 defeat against Cibola on the 8th. As for Albuquerque, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-46 win against Los Lunas on the 14th.
