Basketball Recap: Clinton Finds Playoff Glory Versus Landrum

Clinton extended their postseason success on Thursday against Landrum. Everything went their way against the Landrum Cardinals as they made off with a 45-19 victory. The Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Clinton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was McKenzie Clark out in front who went 7-for-12 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Clark has posted since back in December of 2024. Mylayja Thompson was another key player, putting up five points in addition to ten assists and seven boards.

Clinton was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.9 points over those games. Landrum's loss dropped their record down to 15-14.

Looking ahead, Clinton will welcome Fairfield Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so Fairfield Central's offense will have their work cut out for them. Landrum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
