Basketball Recap: Gulf Breeze Takes a Loss

Gulf Breeze was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 50-35 to the Navarre Raiders. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dolphins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 43-25 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Gulf Breeze still got an impressive performance from Genevieve Delapp, who posted ten points and five boards. The dominant performance also gave Delapp a new career-high in assists (three). Kaia Seeley was another key player, putting up four points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Navarre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Breanna Shaw, who had nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. Shaw is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaleah Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Gulf Breeze's loss dropped their record down to 1-23. As for Navarre, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-12.

Gulf Breeze has already played their next game (against Milton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Navarre didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-41 win against Pensacola Catholic on the 31st.
