Softball Recap: Mayfield Takes a Loss

Mayfield has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They fell just short of the Centennial Hawks by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Trojans have suffered since April 16, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Mayfield and nudges their season record down to 12-2. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Centennial, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 14-0.

While Mayfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
