Recap: Omaha R Roadrunners vs. South Metro HomeSchool Huskies
The Omaha R Roadrunners's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 65-44 loss at the hands of South Metro HomeSchool. Omaha R has not had much luck with South Metro HomeSchool recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Roadrunners players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Stephen Vankat, who scored 19 points. Vankat scored a full 43.2% of Omaha R's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jack Vankat, who scored 11 points.
Omaha R's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-4. As for South Metro HomeSchool, the win (which was their third in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 1-0.
Omaha R will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Mary's Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. South Metro HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
