Basketball Recap: Timpview Piles Up the Points Against Spanish Fork

Timpview won the last time they faced Spanish Fork and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Timpview Thunderbirds really took it to the Spanish Fork Dons for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-43 win. The Thunderbirds have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.

Gage Christensen and Andy Hernandez certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Christensen posted 16 points, while Hernandez scored eight points. Noah Johnson was another key player, putting up two points.

Timpview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.1 points over those games. As for Spanish Fork, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.

Looking ahead, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Thunderbirds duke it out with the Golden Eagles at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Maple Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Spanish Fork, they will square off against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
