Softball Recap: Cascade's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Cascade extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 11-5 in the process. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the McCutcheon Mavericks. Six seems to be a good number for the Cadets as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Tara Gruca was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cascade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive contests.

As for McCutcheon, they dropped their record down to 6-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On McCutcheon's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Davis, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Looking ahead, Cascade will take on Indian Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCutcheon, they will square off against Tri-West Hendricks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
