Softball Recap: Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns vs. Oceanside Pirates
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Rancho Buena Vista walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Oceanside Pirates with a sharp 9-2 victory on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Longhorns also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2023.
Danica Nielsen made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
