Venture Academy piles up the points against West Campus

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Venture Academy Mustangs had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 108-55 victory over the Warriors. Venture Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 22 games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venture Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mario Williams, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Williams hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Lowe, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.

West Campus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zach Villanueva, who scored 20 points along with seven assists. Villanueva has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 13 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel Green, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists.

The win (which was Venture Academy's seventh in a row) raised their record to 27-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 90.3 points per game. As for West Campus, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8.

Venture Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Ripon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Venture Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 30 matches -- so hopefully Ripon likes a good challenge. West Campus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
