Basketball Recap: West Lowndes Takes a Loss

West Lowndes was the 53-47 winner over Hamilton when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The West Lowndes Panthers were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 40-39 to the Hamilton Lions. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Hamilton found their leader in sophomore Chris Willis, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and five assists. That's the most assists Willis has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Troupe, who earned 11 points.

This is the second loss in a row for West Lowndes and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Hamilton, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

West Lowndes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-61 victory against Nanih Waiya on the 13th. As for Hamilton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-51 win against Nettleton on the 16th.
