Basketball Recap: Midlothian Takes a Loss

Midlothian lost against Glen Allen back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Midlothian Trojans took a 77-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Glen Allen Jaguars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (61), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Glen Allen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase James, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave James a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Faron Friend, who posted 19 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Midlothian and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Glen Allen, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Midlothian will face off against Powhatan at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glen Allen, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-45 victory against Freeman on the 10th.
