Basketball Recap: Unadilla Valley Takes a Loss

Unadilla Valley played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 54-30 to the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Bobcats are ranked 146th).

Leading Bainbridge-Guilford to victory were Jayslin Henderson and Marissa Mayo. Henderson went 6 of 14 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight boards and five steals, while Mayo posted 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Mayo has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalyn Winans, who had eight points.

Unadilla Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Unadilla Valley will take on Unatego at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bainbridge-Guilford, they will face off against Delaware Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
