Game recap: Rivercrest High School Football Team defeats Piggott

PIGGOTT, Ark. - Rivercrest (Wilson, Ark.) kept up a steady attack all game long to beat Piggott (Ark.), 48-7, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Marquez Chew touchdown run in the first quarter, the Colts led 28-7 at the half.

Rivercrest grew its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Chris Johnson touchdown run.

Piggott's lone touchdown came on a 4-yard run in the first quarter.

Coming into the game the Wilson school had allowed 21.7 points per game this year.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Colts came away with a 48-16 victory.

The loss was the third in a row for the Mohawks.

Piggott (1-5) goes up against Harrisburg in a 3A Region 3 game matchup next week, while Rivercrest (4-3) locks horns with Manila also in a 3A Region 3 game.
