Softball Recap: Charlottesville Black Knights vs. Waynesboro Little Giants

Charlottesville couldn't beat Waynesboro on Friday even though they stacked eight runs on them in the sixth inning. The Black Knights lost 29-15 to the Little Giants. Even if the Black Knights couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Dior Dennis and Ayden Johnson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dennis went 3-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Johnson went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kylee Gentry was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Charlottesville is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for Waynesboro, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-12.
