Recap: Academy at Penguin Hall vs. Rocky Hill Country Day Mariners
Academy at Penguin Hall lost against the Rocky Hill Country Day Mariners back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Academy at Penguin Hall took a serious blow against Rocky Hill Country Day, falling 87-24. Academy at Penguin Hall was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-19.
Rocky Hill Country Day's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Mahar, who shot 5-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mahar has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Sokol, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Academy at Penguin Hall and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Rocky Hill Country Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Academy at Penguin Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rocky Hill Country Day will head out on the road to face off against Lexington Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
