Volleyball Game Preview: Servite Friars vs. Orange Lutheran Lancers

Servite is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Orange Lutheran Lancers at 5:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Servite's tournament run continued when they took on Buchanan on Saturday. Servite fell 2-0 to Buchanan. The Friars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran suffered their biggest loss since April 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Beckman, falling 3-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Lancers were not able to get on the board.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Beckman scored at least 21 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21, 25-22.

Servite's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Orange Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.

Servite was able to grind out a solid win over Orange Lutheran when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Servite since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
