The Hesperia Scorpions will face off against the Serrano Diamondbacks at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Hesperia will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Hesperia won the last time they faced Oak Hills, and Emily Ventroni did her part to make sure it happened again. The Scorpions came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Ventroni, who had 15 digs and five aces. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played.
Hesperia was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, 25-20.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hesperia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deziree Mendoza, who had 13 digs and one assist. Those 13 digs gave Mendoza a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kitana Tapopo, who had ten digs and one assist.
Hesperia was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive games.
Serrano not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 21st (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Burroughs.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 26-24.
Hesperia better keep an eye on Zoey Blanchard. She was instrumental in Serrano's win, getting nine digs and two aces.
Hesperia's victory bumped their record up to 21-1. As for Serrano, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Everything went Hesperia's way against Serrano in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as Hesperia made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Scorpions repeat their success, or do the Diamondbacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
