Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rockridge Rockets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rockets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in August.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-11, 25-10.

Ella Humphrey paced Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s offense, picking up four kills. Humphrey got some help from Haylee Bennett and her 14 assists. Bennett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Rockridge, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Sherrard on the 11th. As for Rockridge, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against East Moline United on the 11th.
