Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Clare

Clare had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Dow Chargers a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since June 13, 2025.

Clare's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Dow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clare will square off against Standish-Sterling at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dow, they will host Powers Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Powers Catholic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.64 runs per game on average), something Dow will no doubt try to take advantage of.
