Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Eagles vs. Willow Springs Bears

The Liberty Eagles will challenge the Willow Springs Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Willow Springs likes a good challenge.

Liberty's tournament run continued when they took on Norwood on Thursday. Liberty fell 66-57 to Norwood. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Pirates are ranked 39th).

Meanwhile, Willow Springs came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they left with even more momentum. They escaped with a win against the Trojans by the margin of a single free throw, 43-42. The 43-point effort marked the Bears' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Willow Springs, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Liberty strolled past Willow Springs when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a score of 68-54. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Willow Springs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
