Baseball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. Gunn Titans

The North Salinas Vikings will head out to square off against the Gunn Titans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.

North Salinas can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Friday. They fell just short of Rancho San Juan by a score of 2-1. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Trailblazers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

North Salinas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joshua Degroodt, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Gunn never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against Harker as Gunn made off with a 10-0 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Titans considering their one-run performance the match before.

Cam Owen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Owen was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other pitching news, Ethan Hong looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jonah Weinstein, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Seve Noh was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
