Basketball Recap: Payette Pirates vs. Marsing Huskies

Payette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 62-11 loss at the hands of the Marsing Huskies. The game marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Calvin Shaffer was Payette's leading scorer, having posted four points. Michael Ocampo held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.

Marsing was led to victory by Juan Ponce and Jace Chadez. Ponce posted 19 points, while Chadez went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Chadez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Teagan Kinney, who had eight points and nine rebounds.

Payette wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-14 loss against New Plymouth on the 20th. As for Marsing, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 91-81 defeat against Weiser on the 20th.
