After a string of five wins, Toombs County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Yellow Jackets from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Toombs County took Southeast Bulloch into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-19, 25-20, 22-25, 15-7.

Southeast Bulloch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Allana Taylor, who had five digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Taylor a new career-high.

Toombs County's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Southeast Bulloch, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-13 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toombs County will square off against Brantley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southeast Bulloch, they will challenge Faith Baptist Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
