Baseball Game Preview: Gahr Gladiators vs. Notre Dame (SO) Knights

The Gahr Gladiators will challenge the Notre Dame (SO) Knights at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses apiece dating back to last season.

Gahr fell victim to Loyola and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cubs.

Gahr got a good showing from Jorge Valdez, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Meanwhile, Notre Dame (SO) started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Santa Margarita. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday.

Notre Dame (SO) also got a good showing from JuJu Diaz-Jones, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit over four innings pitched. What's more, Diaz-Jones posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

At the plate, Jacob Madrid made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Dominic Cadiz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Notre Dame (SO)'s loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Gahr, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-3.
