Recap: West Charlotte Lions vs. Harding University Rams
The West Charlotte Lions had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 65-53 win over Harding University on Wednesday. The victory was just what West Charlotte needed coming off of a 74-52 loss in their prior matchup.
West Charlotte was led to victory by Christian Coleman and Brandon Blakeney. Coleman scored 20 points along with six rebounds, while Blakeney went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. Another player making a difference was Damani Day, who scored nine points.
West Charlotte's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Harding University, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
West Charlotte will be playing in front of their home fans against Mallard Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mallard Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matches. Harding University's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hopewell at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopewell knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Harding University likes a good challenge.
