Malibu had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They came out on top against the Golden Valley Grizzlies by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Sharks, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-23.

Malibu's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3. As for Golden Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Malibu beat Golden Valley by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.
