Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Rancho Christian Eagles, falling 3-0. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-9, 25-11.

Rancho Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Morrison, who had six digs, four aces, and one block. Those four aces gave Morrison a new career-high. Lily Del Valle also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Rancho Christian, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hillcrest will take on rival Paloma Valley at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rancho Christian is set to face off against their familiar foe Poly at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
