Basketball Game Preview: McNair Eagles vs. Weston Ranch Cougars

McNair hasn't had much luck against Weston Ranch recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The McNair Eagles will square off against the Weston Ranch Cougars at 7:00 p.m.

Last Saturday, McNair came up short against Lathrop and fell 59-47.

Meanwhile, Weston Ranch didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Carlsbad on Monday, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Lancers are ranked 24th).

Weston Ranch has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for McNair, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.

McNair was dealt a bruising 90-38 defeat at the hands of Weston Ranch in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point McNair was down 49-13.
