Baseball Recap: Burke Comes Up Short

The Burke Bengals came up short against the Sidwell Friends Quakers on Saturday, falling 15-3.

Burke saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Hutt, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. That run marked the first that Hutt scored this season.

Burke's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Sidwell Friends, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burke will head out to challenge Smith Jewish Day School at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Bengals their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Sidwell Friends, they will challenge Maret at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Quakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Frogs have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
