Soccer Game Preview: Normal Community vs. Mahomet-Seymour

The Normal Community Ironmen will head out to take on the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Normal Community is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Glenwood just ended the team's four-match winning streak on Saturday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The result kept Normal Community happy, as they haven't lost a game since September 26th.

Meanwhile, Mahomet-Seymour fell victim to Mt. Zion and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 4-0 to the Braves.

Normal Community's draw gives them a new season record of 13-3-3. As for Mahomet-Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9-3.

Normal Community took their win against Mahomet-Seymour in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. In that match, the Ironmen amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Monday.
