Ellie Freeth was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Freeth has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Freeth was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and an RBI.
Freeth wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Isadora Catania, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for McGraw, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
