Basketball Recap: Danica Gosz Key Part of a Team Effort in Warhawks Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Germantown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Divine Savior Holy Angels with a 75-70 victory. The squad ran away with 63 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Germantown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Danica Gosz out in front who posted 23 points and three steals. Gosz's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Madeline Jakusz, who earned 14 points and seven rebounds.

Germantown is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points over those games. As for Divine Savior Holy Angels, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-12.

Looking ahead, Germantown will venture away from home to face off against Brookfield Central at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. As for Divine Savior Holy Angels, they and Whitefish Bay will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
