Hazleton Area is a perfect 10-0 against Crestwood since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Cougars will face off against the Comets at 4:15 p.m. Hazleton Area is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Hazleton Area proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 12) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Wyoming Valley West 5-3.

Gavin Perkosky looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Hazleton Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Ledger, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Ledger hit this season. Logan Hearity was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Crestwood and Wilkes-Barre meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Comets fell just short of the Wolfpack by a score of 4-2.

Hazleton Area picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-2. As for Crestwood, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Hazleton Area's way against Crestwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Hazleton Area made off with a 21-0 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
