Softball Game Preview: Show Low Cougars vs. Tuba City Warriors

The Show Low Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Tuba City Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Show Low has three straight victories, Tuba City has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Show Low is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 30-0 margin over Thatcher on Tuesday. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 12 runs or more this season.

Riley Heuett and Aspyn Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Heuett pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Clark tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Heuett has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Heuett scored five runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4, while Clark scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. With that strong performance, Heuett is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.

In other batting news, Ari Rivera was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 4-for-5. Avery Ervien was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-5.

Show Low kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 26 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matches.
