Softball Game Preview: Meigs Marauders vs. Adena Warriors

The Meigs Marauders will square off against the Adena Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meigs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.

Adena's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Meigs hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Marauders never let Southern get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Thursday.

Southern's batters probably weren't too happy with Natalie Goode, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). Goode has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bella Roush was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shelby Yost, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meigs hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Adena and Piketon, and Adena kept the tradition alive. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Redstreaks 8-6.

Adena has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Meigs, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Everything went Meigs' way against Adena in their previous matchup back in March, as Meigs made off with a 9-3 victory. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
