Baseball Recap: Southern Academy Gets the Win

On Saturday Southern Academy's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Southeast Lauderdale Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 27, 2025.

The team relied heavily on Drew Rogers, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Southern Academy's record now sits at 4-0. As for Southeast Lauderdale, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-2 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Academy will challenge Wilcox Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeast Lauderdale, they will square off against Newton County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
