Volleyball Recap: Southwest Starts Season with Win Against Braddock

Southwest gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Braddock Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-10, 25-16.

Sarah Lewis paced Southwest's offense, picking up 18 kills. Lewis got some help from Isabela Perez and her 21 assists. Emily Lopez controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest will head out to square off against South Dade at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Braddock, they will venture away from home to face off against Goleman at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
