Basketball Recap: North Lenoir Takes a Loss

North Lenoir was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Southwest Onslow Stallions, falling 61-40. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 441st, while the Stallions are ranked 34th).

North Lenoir's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Southwest Onslow, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

North Lenoir won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kinston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Kinston will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something North Lenoir surely won't give up without a fight. As for Southwest Onslow, they will take on East Duplin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Southwest Onslow's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matchups.
