Volleyball Game Preview: Geneva Vikings vs. Wheaton North Falcons

The Geneva Vikings will challenge the Wheaton North Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Geneva is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Maine West just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1. While the Vikings didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-20 in the first set.

Geneva started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Wheaton North faced off against Bartlett on Wednesday. The Falcons walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hawks. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Wheaton North never let Bartlett on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-22.

Geneva better keep an eye on Trey Hubner. He was instrumental in Wheaton North's win, getting 13 assists and two aces. That's the most aces Hubner has posted over his last seven games. Tom?s Manrique also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.

Wheaton North's win bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Geneva, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.
