Baseball Recap: Parkville Beats Catonsville for Their Third Straight Victory

Parkville extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 11-5 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over the Catonsville Comets. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Comets, too.

Collin Cuddy looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Parkville's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Teddy Pineda, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Catonsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-6. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

On Catonsville's side, Devin Benhayon was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Benhayon is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rory Reinhardt, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Parkville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-0 victory against Dundalk on the 5th. As for Catonsville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 4-2 win against Eastern Tech on the 5th.
