Softball Recap: Cheney Blackhawks vs. Lewis & Clark Tigers

Cheney was the 8-1 winner over Lewis & Clark when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blackhawks took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Wednesday. The Blackhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mia Ashcroft was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Millie Beito, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Cheney's record now sits at 2-7. As for Lewis & Clark, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney will venture away from home to square off against Ridgeline at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lewis & Clark, they will head out to take on Gonzaga Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are facing the Bullpups at the right time seeing as the Bullpups are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
