Softball Preview: Geneseo Blue Devils vs. Letchworth Legends

Geneseo hasn't had much luck against Letchworth recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Blue Devils are taking a road trip to square off against the Legends at 4:30 p.m. Letchworth took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Geneseo, who comes in off a win.

Geneseo proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 17) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Warsaw 6-4.

Adelyn McDonald was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. McDonald was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Geneseo let Kendal Bennett and Paige Rossborough run wild. Bennett got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run, while Rossborough scored two runs and stole five bases while going 1-for-2. Emma Conklin was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Letchworth lost 10-2 to Avon on Friday.

Letchworth's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Geneseo, their record is now 2-0.
