Basketball Recap: Union City Comes Up Short

Union City was the 39-25 winner over Randolph Southern when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians lost 52-29 to the Rebels on Wednesday. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.

Despite the loss, Union City still got an impressive performance from Campbell Kerns, who posted 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Randolph Southern found their leader in freshman Makayla Minnis, who earned 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Gerber, who put up four points and six steals.

Union City dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Randolph Southern, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Union City has already played their next contest, a 37-32 defeat against Anderson Prep Academy on the 15th. As for Randolph Southern, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-16 victory against Wes-Del on the 14th.
